  • Nanoscale Design and Test Research and Education Group- NREG group
  • Nanoscale Design and Test Research and Education Group (NREG) at the University of North Texas is an interdisciplinary research group engaged in research and education in nanoscale design and testing. The group consists of and supported by four laboratories, five faculty and several graduate and undergraduate students. The group actively engaged in cutting-edge research in various areas of VLSI, such as CAD and Modeling for Nanoscale VLSI Circuits, Synthesis and Optimization for Low Power, Power Aware System Design, and VLSI Architecture for Security and Copyright Protection, Analog-Mixed signal circuits design, RF domain design, FPGA and physical synthesis. The faculty members of the group offer several courses with a strong research flavor in order to train students and generate future researchers in VLSI.

    Research Areas:

    • Sensors
    • Low-power Devices
    • VLSI Design & Testing

  • Communication Engineering Research Group- CERG group
  • Communication Engineering Research Group (CERG) focuses on design and development of advanced communication techniques to provide efficient and robust information transmission over wired and wireless networks. Working in concert with academia and industry partners, the group is dedicated to research on information and communication theory, source and channel coding, encryption, and wireless communication and networking. Both undergraduate and graduate levels courses are offered by the faculty members in this group.

    Research Areas:

    • Coding Theory
    • Wireless Communication
    • Channel Movement and Measurement

  • Networking
  • Networking Research Group at the University of North Texas hasan extensive collaborative reserach program with the Computer Science and Engineering Department. Faculty of the group, Dr.Guturu and Dr.Xinrong Li are currently working as co-investigators in two of the NSF projects in the networking and the wireless sensor networks areas.

    Research Areas:

    • Wireless/Wired Networks
    • Sensor Networks
    • Ad-hoc Networks

  • RF / Microwaves and Antennas
  • RF / Microwaves, and Antennas group at the University of North Texas will conduct research in the areas of RF / microwave / millimeter-wave circuit and antenna design. Applications include wireless communication system, satellite / space system, and military system. Designed circuit components will be implemented either on the board-level or on the chip-level. And we have good facilities for simulation, fabrication, and measurement of these circuits.

    Research Areas:

    • RF / Microwave / Millimeter-wave Circuit Design
    • Antenna Design

  • Signal Processing Research Group (SPRG)
  • Signal Processing Research Group (SPRG) at the University of North Texas is an interdisciplinary research group engaged in research and education in signal processing. Faculty and students of the group are working on a wide variety of fundamental and applied problems in signal processing theories and systems as well as their applications in communications, networking, geolocation, imagewq and vision processing, and etc. The faculty members of the group offer many courses in signal processing at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

    Research Areas:

    • Collaborative Signal Processing
    • Sensor Fusion and Processing
