Degree Requirements

Two options are available:

  • Option A: Thesis option with 24 semester hours of organized coursework, excluding undergraduate prerequisites and leveling courses, and 6 semester hours of EENG 5950 Master Thesis.

  • Option B:Non-Thesis option with 30 semester hours of organized course work and 3 semester hours of EENG 5890 Study of Topics in Electrical Engineering.

Course Selection:

Both courses require the completion of

  • Three core courses with a grade of B or better.
  • At least 18 semester hours of graduate electrical engineering courses, excluding EENG 5890 Directed Studies, EENG 5900 Special Problems, and EENG 5950 Master's Thesis..
  • No more than 6 semester hours of EENG 5900 Special Problems or EENG 5890 Directed Studies.
  • Leveling courses: Students, whose undergraduate majors are not Electrical Engineering, must take additional leveling courses that will be decided by the EE graduate advisor on an individual basis.
